Simon Cowell has blasted Natalia Kills for being ‘hateful’ following the judge being sacked from X Factor New Zealand.
The British-born pop star and husband Willy Moon were sensationally sacked from the X Factor New Zealand after they laid into contestant Joe Irvine in uncomfortable scenes in the first live episode.
The media mogul told Weekend magazine: “It was hateful. She sounded mad… It didn’t even make sense.”
The X Factor boss also explained why they had to go, he said: “Where they c***ed up was that they didn’t apologise straight away.
“If they’d both been genuinely sorry and called me, and apologised to the guy and his family, who knows what could have happened?
The husband and wife judging duo caused outrage after they humiliated contestant Joe Irvine on the live show, leading to viewers, sponsors and advertisers slamming the show publicly.
Host Dominic Bowden announced the sackings, saying: “Yes, following last night’s show, MediaWorks has made the decision that Willy Moon and Natalia Kills are leaving the show.
“From all of us, we believe it was the right thing to do. The good news is we’re bringing in new mentors for the boys and the groups.
“They’ll be sitting in those chairs right there next week.”
FremantleMedia – which owns the X Factor franchise – said in a statement: “We 100 per cent support TV3 and MediaWorks in their decision to remove them.
“The X Factor does not tolerate the behaviour they displayed last night
