During his brief appearance in the Celebrity Big Brother house, Alexander O’Neal spoke openly about his past problems with recreational drug use.

And the star, 61, has now admitted that after he prematurely exited the show last month – following a heated row with Perez Hilton – he soon descended back into the darkness of substance abuse.

A spokesman for the singer said in a statement : ‘It has been extensively reported how this series of CBB has been one of the most stressful and volatile in the history of the show.
