It’s a finding that will bring relief to millions.
Although six inches is the accepted norm for the length of a manhood, the average is actually nearly an inch smaller, research reveals.
Analysis of 17 studies involving more than 15,500 men revealed that the average length of an erect penis was 13.12 centimetres (5.16 inches).
The average length of a flaccid phallus was 9.16 cms (3.6 inches), while the average length of a flaccid stretched penis was 13.24 cms (5.21 inches), according to the research.
The average flaccid circumference was 9.31 cms (3.66 inches), and the average erect circumference was 11.66 cms (4.59 inches).
The researchers said there was a small correlation between erect length and height.
They believe their analysis provides insights on what’s considered “normal” for penis length and circumference in men.
The experts said the findings, published in the journal BJU International, may be helpful when counseling men who are worried about their size, or when investigating the relationship between condom failure and penile dimensions.
Doctors say some men are concerned about their penis size, and those who are preoccupied and severely distressed with the size of their penis may even be diagnosed with Body Dysmorphic Disorder
