Ryan Gosling threw a birthday party for his girl Eva Mendes and it looked like the new parents decided to bring along their baby daughter, too.
Mendes gave birth six months ago but the notoriously private couple have kept their little girl, who they named Esmeralda Amadar, under wraps.
And on Thursday, they didn’t give much away either as they arrived first followed by a mystery woman who carried a baby into the event in a car seat with a baby blanket over the top.
In fact, the secretive couple might even have been trying to put folks off the scent by using a blue baby blanket with motifs of basketball and soccer balls on it, giving the impression that the occupant of the baby carrier was a boy.
But given that The Training Day and 2 Fast 2 Furious star is breastfeeding her little girl, it’s unlikely she’d have left her at home or have wanted to spend her special day without her.
In a post-baby interview with fashion magazine Violet Grey, Mendes talked about how she and Gosling are determined to protect their child from the media spotlight as much as possible.
‘Whether we like it or not, privacy is going to be very difficult for Esmeralda. I think it’s unfair but that’s our reality. So Ryan and I decided early on to give her as much privacy as we could,’ the actress said.
